After yesterday’s successful start, I am super charged to write more and more. Till I run out of ideas and lose interest.
My day started off in a quite boring way. I got up and left home. Got into the AC Bus and slept off. When I got off at Worli Naka and was rushing to my office, (I was damn late!!), an old man called out to me. Now, I had my earphones on with loud music and hence could not hear what he said. I anyway thought he must be a beggar and ignored him. This man followed me…Crossed the road with me….I thought, Oh my god! He is one hell of a stalker beggar. I ran faster….he limped faster…this really made me curious. I stopped and turned to him. He said, “Tai tumcha daha rupaiye neeche padle” (Which means…Sister…you dropped your 10 Rs.)
My face flushed with embarrassment. I felt like shit. I took the money from him sheepishly. Thanked him and walked away feeling extremely stupid. Imagine that man was so nice that he actually followed me to give me my money back.
I think its ok. Perfectly fine! Everyone has such embarrassing moments.
Ok…This reminds me of another such shameful incident. I am sure all of us know how crowded the Local train stations in Mumbai are at peak hours. The crowd spills out of the station and pushes its way to the auto rickshaw stands. Now, I am walking along with the crowd to the auto stand and am walking on a path way. The pathway is flanked by shops with their merchandise overflowing on it. I have my earphones on again..with Hinder yelling and singing to me that I deserve much better than him. Anyway…so I am basically walking lost in my own world. Suddenly, I stop..the guy in front of me is not moving. So, I just say..”Excuse me”. He does not move. I am still in my own world and say “Excuse me!!” He does not move again. I get slightly irritated and raise my volume and say” Excuse me..can’t you hear?? I said excuse me!!!!” Then, a noble boy who was walking next 2 me…pats me on my shoulder and says..Dear..you are talking to a Mannequin……………………….
Oh shit!!! People around me start laughing. My face turns to a deep shade of red. I am embarrassed!! I want to run away. A girl sniggers at me. An old man looks at me as if am schizophrenic. And a mom tells her daughter to be away from people like me….Lolz…I feel so ashamed that I run away. Don’t even take an auto. Just walk my way till home.
So, do let me know if you also have any such stories which will make me feel better and less stupid. :)
I guess that’s it for today…more stories to share in the days to come…
LOL LOL LOL...you really got me cracking...especially the 2nd one.
ReplyDeleteAs for me sharing an embarrasing incident,I do not think i need to remind you of mine which deserves an Oscar...now stop laughing. i still feel embarrased whenever i think about it.

@ Vrutti - I cant stop laughing. I nominate yours as the best embarrassing incident. Though Madhu's is also in tight competition with you.
